CHICAGO - November 29, 2021 — Secretary of State candidate Pat Dowell has expanded her campaign team. “As our campaign continues to move forward, we are adding team members to help deliver our message,” said Dowell.
Thaddeus Walls will serve as Campaign Administrator and oversee the day to day operations, Nick Daggers and JR Patton of the 1833 Group will handle fundraising activities, and Nora Brathol, Arka Pana Consulting, will direct social media.
“Thaddeus, Nick, J.R., and Nora are proven campaign professionals. I am impressed with their passion and expertise in their fields,” said Dowell.
Thaddeus Walls has worked for the campaigns of John Ossoff, Stacey Abrams, Fritz Kaegi, Lamont Robinson, and Lori Lightfoot. He has consulted on political races and managed Independent Expenditure efforts in New Jersey and Michigan. He assisted 270 Strategies in their work with Education 4 Everyone and Michigan Liberation Action Fund PAC, a grassroots criminal justice reform organization. In Michigan, the PAC endorsed 20 candidates for the 2020 cycle and was instrumental in flipping Michigan’s State Supreme Court in addition to turning out voters in Southeast Michigan for President Biden along with other endorsed candidates.
“I’m excited to join Team Dowell because she is the only candidate in this race that has the experience, results, and ideas that will increase the engagement and services of the Secretary of State office,” added Walls.
Nick Daggers, JR Patton, and the 1833 Group will be leading the fundraising efforts for the Dowell campaign. Their firm is a Naperville-based Democratic fundraising consulting firm that has helped raise millions of dollars for candidates and progressive causes nationwide. Their work has been recognized by the American Association of Political Consultants. As a member of the Calumet City Council, Patton is particularly excited to work on this historic campaign.
Nora Brathol has joined the Dowell for Illinois campaign as Digital Director. A veteran campaigner who primarily works in Illinois, Wisconsin, and California, Nora will be using her skills to help Ald. Dowell increase her social media presence by marrying traditional outreach tactics with innovative digital technologies.
"I'm thrilled to be helping elect Illinois' first black woman as Secretary of State. Secretary of State is one of those roles that many people don't realize how much it affects their daily life and Ald. Dowell listens and learns the needs of the people. Her record shows how the government can provide services to the people, not the other way around - she delivers what the people need.”
